Menander (Μένανδρος), one of ancient Greece's greatest dramatists.
Since I mentioned him in my last post, here's one of my favorite zingers from Menander.
ἄλυπον ἄξεις τὸν βίον χωρἰς γάμου.

  2. Ha! Pithy, and yet perhaps only partially true. I might say "You will lead a peaceful but lonely life without marriage." And thanks for the translation. :)
